Pumpkin for Every Meal at this New England Pub

Here at Fireside, we love the fall! As experts in New England pub food and comfort cuisine, fall is the perfect season to embrace our roots and enjoy some home cooked food. From warm soups to hearty pasta dishes, the chefs here will bring you back to your childhood in one bite. We invite you to take a peek in our kitchen and find out how we incorporate a fall staple at every meal: pumpkin.

Breakfast

Now, as a traditional New England pub, we don’t serve breakfast food. But as the most important meal of the day, we asked our chefs their favorite way to sneak pumpkin into their breakfast dishes. Pumpkin muffins, smoothies, and coffee of course! Muffins are best made the night before, while as a pumpkin smoothie can give you that quick boost of veggies most people don’t get in the morning.

Lunch

Lunch can be a little trickier to sneak some pumpkin in. Traditional “office lunches” are usually salad, soup, and sandwiches, but you can add it to any of these! For sandwiches, add a little pumpkin puree schmear to some bread, add some soft cheese like goat and some greens, and your good to go! You can also add pumpkin seeds to your salad, but our chefs think that’s a little bit of a cop-out.

Dinner

Pumpkin ravioli! The sweet alternative to traditional ravioli, this dish is the perfect fall dinner. You can pair it was a cinnamon sauce and salty cheese to make it perfect.

Snacks

Still haven’t gotten your fall fix? You can add pumpkin seeds to your trail mix, or dip your apple slices in pumpkin and almond butter. For a sweet treat, you can make pumpkin pie, cookies, or bread.
